Industry Connection Hub

We are the people realising the commercial benefits of reducing food waste.

Food waste is more than just the shame of letting good food go to waste.

From many businesses in Australia, it is also wasted revenue, a disposal cost and a supply chain inefficiency.

If you are a business wanting to tackle these problems, join our Industry Connection Hub.

About the Industry Connection Hub:

Our Industry Connection Hub operates on the core principle that we are fundamentally stronger together, when it comes to tackling food waste in Australia.

Together we are utilising the Fight Food Waste CRC research findings to develop relevant and coordinated, products, programs, courses and training to transform the way we view food waste in the industry.

As a team, we’re creating opportunities for our members to collaborate and use our research and information to commercially benefit their industry sectors and businesses

Each month an Industry Connection Hub Lunch Break session takes place, with the aim of bridging the gap between industry and research. These sessions are open to all hub members and FFW CRC participants.

Francesca brings research, policy and industry experience to her role as TRANSFORM Program Leader. Her research has focussed on food waste in consumer, retail and hospitality sectors of the food supply chain, including quantifying retail food waste in New Zealand. Prior to joining the CRC she worked as Waste Minimisation Manager for Foodstuffs NZ, New Zealand’s largest grocery retailer. In this role she solidified research and industry partnerships to understand the emerging sector of upcycled foods, where surplus and by-products are transformed into new food products.

Francesca works globally across the sector as the International Representative for the University of Otago Food Waste Research Theme in New Zealand and co-chair of the Standards Committee for the Upcycled Food Association in the USA.
